Responsibilities and Authorities
The Scientist II, Molecular Biology will have responsibility in planning and supporting the R&D activities for the development of New Product Introductions (NPI). Housed within Thermo Fisher Scientific Singapore R&D, the successful candidate will provide technical expertise on a project level and will be expected to integrate into a dynamic and multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a proactive attitude and excel in the fast-paced biotechnology industry. As a member of the Assay Verification and Validation team, the candidate should have the technical skills and integrity to lead tasks and achieve quality outcomes to meet project timelines and align with business requirements. Responsibilities
Develop qPCR, NGS, and/or CE assays for New Product Introduction and support sustaining activities for existing products.
Independently develop and carry out Verification and Validation experiments, troubleshoot challenges, evaluate data, interpret findings, and uphold detailed records of experiments.
Author procedures, protocols, and comprehensive reports.
Recommend and implement process, procedure, or product changes within the department.
Lead training sessions and mentor junior team members.
Ensure strict adherence to internal policies, procedures, and external quality standards.
Qualification
To be considered for this outstanding opportunity, you should meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field (upper second-class level) with 4 years of practical experience,
Or a Master's degree or equivalent experience with 2-3 years of work experience,
Or a freshly graduated Ph.D.
Proficiencies Preferred

Demonstrate resourcefulness, self-motivation, detailed and analytical thinking directed toward achieving objectives.
Having expertise in performing verification and validation studies, being knowledgeable about ISO13485 and CLSI guidelines is advantageous.
