As a Development Scientist (Scientist I) within our Microbiology Division you’ll be working in our R&D Team on the development of culture media and/or food safety products and workflows. You’ll work in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidance by senior team members, to ensure work is carried out within schedule.

Responsibilities:
Working closely with both the Culture Media and Food Safety teams, you will be responsible for the following:
Performing culture media formulation and/or food safety workflow development project experiments,Completing project activities including but not limited to:Conducting stability studies for newly developed products,Planning and conducting competitor benchmarking and post-market surveillance studies,Carrying out food pathogen testing for the development, verification & validation of molecular food safety products,Preparing of culture media and other reagents,Maintaining laboratory notebooks to the appropriate standard,Providing R&D team with regular project progress updates,Preparing and delivering product demonstrations for internal customers,Fulfilling the responsibilities of the position as defined in the Thermo Fisher Scientific Health, Safety and Environmental policies and associated Codes of Practice and actively promoting Health and Safety awareness,Any others duties/projects that are within the skills and ability of the post-holder.Minimum Qualifications:
