Department/Team

We create chemistry! Based on modern analytical methods and synthesis procedures we design and develop a great variety of chemical assay components for Dia and Pharma. With our domain knowledge and our wide spectrum of methods, we also accompany the whole lifecycle of active diagnostics ingredients.
We provide in “Chemistry Technologies” a full spectrum of chemical technologies from small molecules to biooligomers and polymers to find the right solutions for diagnostic questions and beyond. We design tailor-made molecules and develop lab scale procedures to provide a competitive advantage for our products. 

Your Key Responsibilities

Development of synthesis strategies within projects that require particularly complex nucleic acid chemical and organic synthesesConducting these syntheses in the laboratoryObserving the field of nucleic acid chemistry and modern preparative organic chemistry through literature and patent studies, and attending conferencesBuilding and maintaining a network through contacts with external and internal expertsCollaborating with cooperating partners, e.g., in the USAEnsuring the required technology through the generation of own IPAdhering to internal and external regulations regarding occupational safety and environmental protection, quality management, labor law, confidentiality, etc.Representing the team leadership at project meetings and assisting in the professional supervision of employees

Who you are

You are an expert in oligonucleotide synthesis and preparative organic synthesis as well as in the purification of synthesis products.  You gained your special knowledge over the course of at least 3 years work experience in an industrial setting.Ideally, you have experience with non-standard oligo building blocks and ultra high purity reagents for single molecule detection and experience with large scale, high quality oligonucleotide synthesisAt the same time, you bring good knowledge in nucleic acids, excellent chemical knowledge, and basic knowledge in biochemistryA university degree in chemistry with a PhD in organic chemistry builds the foundation of your expertiseYou are strong in communication, both in German and EnglishTo build a network, you know how to use and maintain your contacts to establish a good relationship of trustYou also place a high value on good teamwork to find the best solutions

This position is limited to 2 years.
