We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Scientist with deep expertise in rare metabolic, and neurological diseases. The ideal candidate will bring robust hands-on experience in _in vitro_ and _in vivo_ CNS disease modeling, combined with a strong foundation in disease biology and pathophysiology. In this role, you will lead efforts to discover and validate novel therapeutic targets and strategies, leveraging both experimental and analytical approaches. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. **Main Responsibilities** + Support pipeline programs and new program initiation by applying expertise in disease mechanisms, translational biology, and model development + Design and conduct mechanism-of-action and proof-of-concept studies using cellular and animal models of disease + Contribute to interdisciplinary research programs across internal teams and external partnerships, with opportunities to grow into project leadership + Prepare high-quality analyses, documentation, and presentations to support project milestones, publications, patent filings, and regulatory submissions (IND/CTA) + Present findings and progress in internal meetings and external scientific venues **About You** **Core competencies** + Understanding of disease biology in metabolic, mitochondrial, and neurodevelopmental disorders + Experience designing and interpreting functional assays, molecular profiling, and pathway analyses to elucidate disease mechanisms + Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality scientific documentation, including experimental protocols, SOPs, technical reports, and presentations + Proven track record of meaningful contributions to research programs, evidenced by scientific publications and/or presentations **Preferred Technical Skills** + Hands-on experience with disease-relevant _in vitro_ and _in vivo_ models, including cellular, iPSC-derived, or transgenic animal systems + Proficiency with iPSC-derived CNS mono- and co-cultures + Experience performing _in vivo_ studies in rodent models, including dosing (IV, IP, PO), behavioral paradigms, stereotaxic surgeries, CSF extraction, and dissections. + Familiarity with target discovery, preclinical validation, and early drug development workflows **Skills and Competencies** + PhD in a scientific field OR Master’s Degree plus minimum 3 yearsrelevant experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting OR Bachelor’s degree plus minimum 6 years of relevant experience in a similar setting + A degree in Neuroscience or a Cell Biology degree with a neuro science focus is preferred + Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional, matrixed teams + Highly adaptable, with strong multitasking skills and ability to manage shifting priorities and timelines + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound scientific judgment + Clear written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences + Interpersonal strengths that foster effective collaboration and productive working relationships + Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to scientific rigor **Why Choose Us** + Bring the miracles of science to life alongside a supportive, future-focused team. + Discover endless opportunities to grow your talent and drive your career, whether it’s through a promotion or lateral move, at home or internationally. + Enjoy a thoughtful, well-crafted rewards package that recognizes your contribution and amplifies your impact. + Take good care of yourself and your family, with a wide range of health and wellbeing benefits including high-quality healthcare, prevention and wellness programs and at least 14 weeks’ gender-neutral parental leave.
