School Psychologist – San Francisco, CA Contract Dates: March 2, 2026 – May 29, 2026 Hours: 37.5 hours/week Population Served: Elementary-aged clients Reason for Assignment: Coverage for another provider’s leave through the end of the service period Support Available: Collaborative team environment with multiple special education professionals and an additional psychologist supporting higher-needs programming Pay: $80 – $90 per hour Position Overview The School Psychologist provides comprehensive psychological services to children, supporting their cognitive, behavioral, academic, and social-emotional development. Responsibilities include completing evaluations, providing counseling, and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to determine appropriate supports in alignment with state and regulatory guidelines. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesEvaluations & Assessment + Complete multifactorial evaluations (initial and re-evaluations) within required timelines. + Conduct psycho-educational assessments to determine learning needs and eligibility for support services. + Perform specialized evaluations aligned with individual needs. + Lead pre-diagnostic meetings to determine evaluation scope. + Review client records, interview clients, gather caregiver/staff input, and conduct behavioral observations. + Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) when required. Intervention & Consultation + Provide pre-referral consultation and intervention recommendations. + Monitor individual response to interventions and program modifications. + Consult with clients, caregivers, and professionals regarding mental health, learning needs, and behavioral development. + Deliver counseling services as outlined in individualized service plans. + Assist in designing and implementing individualized intervention strategies. + Support the use of tiered intervention frameworks (e.g., RTI/MTSS) as applicable. Collaboration & Compliance + Participate in evaluation meetings, eligibility determinations, intervention planning, and manifestation determination reviews. + Enter evaluation data into required systems at least 24 hours prior to scheduled multidisciplinary meetings (as applicable). + Collaborate closely with caregivers, service providers, and team members. + Attend professional development, in-services, and continuing education events as required. Additional Responsibilities + Support additional program needs such as caregiver education groups, intern supervision, consultation, program evaluation, and development of new services. + Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and all applicable state regulations. + Maintain timely, accurate, and secure documentation. Minimum Requirements + Current and valid California licensure/certification as a School Psychologist. + Master’s degree in Psychology, School Psychology, or related field (preferred). + Experience with pediatric or adolescent populations preferred. + Strong understanding of applicable state and federal regulations. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English required. + Computer proficiency required. + Must meet all compliance requirements (CPR, TB screening, health certificate, background check, etc.). + Successful completion of onboarding and training. + Must be at least 18 years of age. Compensation $80–$90 per hour This range represents a good faith estimate. Actual pay offered will depend on experience, licensure, and other applicable factors.
