Salary: Per GTA Contract Bargaining Unit ( click here (https://www.greececsd.org/Page/531) for contracts): GTA Report Times: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Daily Hours: 7 Work Year: 2025-2026 Supervisor: Building Principal Civil Service Title: N/A Minimum Requirements: NYS Certification as a School Counselor Desired Qualifications: Master's Degree in School Counseling from an accredited college or university; New York State Certification School Counselor; Demonstrated knowledge of the ASCA National Model and its implementation components; Ability to use data to inform program decisions and demonstrate effectiveness; Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and technology skills; TIG training; TCIS certification. Position Summary/Responsibilities: The Elementary School Counselor implements a comprehensive, data-driven program based on the ASCA National Model, focusing on the following: Deliver standards-based, universal classroom lessons aligned with NYS requirements and Erin's Law; Facilitate short-term, data-informed small group counseling and individual responsive counseling to address immediate student academic, social, and emotional needs; Develop an Annual Plan, utilize student data to identify and address achievement gaps, and collect outcome data to evaluate program effectiveness; Consult regularly with parents, staff, and administration, and serve as an advocate for equity and access for all students; Work as part of the multidisciplinary mental health team to ensure academic, career, and social-emotional needs are met; Provide crisis support for behavioral and emotional needs, as needed; All other duties as assigned.
