Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Counselorwith a valid Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential who specializes inconducting Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs). The ideal candidate willhave a strong background in educational assessments, counseling, and specialeducation law, and will play a critical role in supporting students' academic,social-emotional, and behavioral development through comprehensive evaluationsand collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct thorough and legally defensibleIndependent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) in accordance with IDEA and districtpolicies.
· Administer, score, and interpret a variety ofstandardized and non-standardized assessments related to cognitive, academic,social-emotional, and behavioral functioning.
· Collaborate with school psychologists, specialeducation staff, administrators, and families to gather relevant data andprovide holistic insights.
· Prepare detailed, timely, and professional IEEreports with actionable recommendations.
· Participate in IEP meetings to present findingsand support the development of appropriate educational plans.
· Provide short-term counseling and crisisintervention as needed.
· Maintain accurate and confidential studentrecords in compliance with FERPA and district guidelines.
· Stay current with best practices, legal updates,and ethical standards related to school counseling and special educationevaluations.
Qualifications:
Required:
· Valid California PPS Credential in SchoolCounseling
· Master’s degree in School Counseling,Educational Psychology, or related field
· Demonstrated experience conducting orcontributing to IEEs
· Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Californiaspecial education regulations
· Strong assessment, analytical, andreport-writing skills
Preferred:
· Bilingual proficiency
· Experience working in diverse school settings
· Familiarity with tools such as the WISC-V,BASC-3, Vineland-3, and other psychoeducational assessments
