School Aide - Special Education/Elementary
Position: School Aide – Elementary Location: Howard County, MD Start Date: January – June 2026 (Opportunity for extension) Schedule: 35 hours per week Position Description The School Aide works under the supervision of the specialeducation department, teacher, and/or designated supervisor to support studentsrequiring instructional and/or behavioral assistance. This role may alsoinvolve providing personal care, physical mobility support, and therapeuticassistance as directed by healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities + Assist students with instructional and behavioral needs in a specialized classroom setting. + Support students with personal care and mobility requirements. + Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment. + Follow all professional standards and school policies. Minimum Requirements + High School diploma or equivalent. + Must be at least 18 years of age. + Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements. + Current CPR certification (if applicable). + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable). + Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation). Experience Required + Minimum of 1 year working with Special Education students (Moderate to Severe needs). Interview Process + Initial screening with recruiter. + Qualified candidates will complete a virtual interview. + Feedback provided within 24–48 hours. Additional Details + Positions Open: 5 (specific locations discussed during interview). + Duration: Remainder of the school year. + Overtime: 1.5x pay rate (unlikely). + Travel: N/A.
