Job Summary
The Scholarship and Loan Coordinator, under general supervision, manages the administrative responsibility for Federal, State, and private student loan programs, which includes processing of awards and conducting entrance/exit counseling sessions. Responsible for the awarding and reporting of institutional scholarships and outside donor scholarships that conform to Title IV regulations, as well as State and University policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Updates and maintains the Scholarship Manager program to award new scholarship recipients.
+ Conducts scholarship and loan entrance and exit counseling sessions.
+ Provides weekly and monthly reports on scholarships and loan programs.
+ Assists the offices within enrollment management and the business office by providing information and working closely regarding the financial aid process.
+ Guides, directs, answers questions, and resolves problems of students seeking financial aid and scholarship information.
+ Monitors student loan processing to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.
+ Promotes scholarship awareness by maintaining an updated website of available scholarships.

Additional Responsibilities
+ Execute, develop and maintain the student information system forms (Banner), web-focus reports, responsible for importing and exporting student financial aid records and perform the integrated processing within Banner and other external soft wares.
+ Responsible for the management and timely disbursement of student funds for assigned programs such as: scholarships, student loans, and Title IV programs. Ensures that funds are returned in accordance with program regulations.
+ Prepare and submit files and reports for the maintenance and reconciliation of assigned programs. Coordinate with and respond to the Business Office and other departments on various questions about student accounts, over-awards, refunds, etc.
+ Maintains confidential records and information.
+ Monitors and maintain student records with COD (Common Origination and Disbursement), NSLDS (National Student Loan Data System), FAMIS/CANOPY soft wares.
+ Promotes financial aid awareness by maintaining an updated office website of available programs.
+ Prepare, coordinate, process and execute communication with students through online announcements, email, text, and regular mail.
+ Provide guidance to students on financial literacy, default loan prevention, scholarship search engines, repayment options, student employment, etc.
+ Perform Return to Title IV Calculations.
+ Communicate with faculty and staff as needed to verify student attendance and any other data needed for the return to Title IV calculations.
+ Assist as back-up to the Student Employee Program as needed.
Minimum Requirements
+ Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.
+ Experience – Two years of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
+ Preferred experience in banking, bookkeeping, reconciliation, advising, and communication.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to:
+ Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
+ Preferred knowledge of the following software: BANNER, COD, NSLDS, FAMIS/CANOPY.
Licensing / Professional Certification – None.

Salary: $19.06/hourly
