D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for anScheduling Superintendentin the Construction Department. The Scheduling Superintendent is responsible for coordinating division departments, civil engineers and architects to ensure building plans, surveys and permits are submitted and completed to meet the established construction schedule. Manages the initial construction of multiple homes by supervising job site subcontractors and inspections while maintaining company construction and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Review surveys and plot plans for accuracyDevelop a process to unify field and office systemsCreate, update and maintain computerized construction schedulesEstablish and monitor the dig schedule. Watch for trends or issues that might disrupt scheduleCollect and disperse construction data to trades and internal departmentsMaintain a professional and courteous relationship with municipality departments and staff membersServe as the designated division contact for field related permit or scheduling issues and respond promptlyCreate and submit staking requests and surveys to civil engineers for all lots based on the construction trench scheduleSchedule, coordinate and verify trenching dates, installation of underground plumbing, foundation form work and placement of concrete, dry utility extensions, and schedule lumber dropsEnsure lots are loaded in CSMe, and lot starts are on time per schedule (click off M1)Update per project, per lot CSMe daily (tasks prior to M3)Responsible for accuracy of CSMe through M3 and in compliance with division unit objectivesResponsible for all utility and municipal inspections prior to M3Conduct bi-monthly meetings with trades responsible for foundations, plumbing, utilities, grading and framing to coordinate upcoming startsVerify all utilities installed and rough grade complete on all lots prior to frame startDesignate and distribute lumber drop and frame start schedules to superintendents, framers and truss manufacturers 4 weeks outUpdate and maintain the construction status of all homes through lumber dropInform division accounting and purchasing staff changes in permit fees, utility connection fees and other municipality feesConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years related experienceAbility to manage and complete the “13 Milestones of Construction” specified in JDEMust have a vehicle capable of carrying supplies, valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttimeAbility to utilize DRH Construction applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptopAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH Construction applicationsProficiency with MS Office and email
