Job Sum mary : Responsible for the efficient flow of scheduling patient services throughout the hospital with accuracy according to modality specifications. Assures that every patient has a physician order for each exam. In addition to scheduling, the representative is responsible for the efficient registration of patients, ensuring that accurate information is collected. This includes insurance verification and identifying coinsurance for payment at time of booking and providing this information to the patient. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of scheduling programs and PC, telephone, and database systems. Knowledge of medical terminology and third-party insurance. Strong typing skills. Ability to understand both written and verbal detailed instructions. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience is required. Success Factors Willingness to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Exemplary customer service and oral communication skills required. Must be able to work in a team environment. Ability to schedule in a service-oriented and cost-effective manner. Able to verify patient health insurance and pre-authorization information accurately. Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and logic to scheduling and registration issues. Understands performance improvement initiatives. .
