Responsibilities

The Scheduling/Staffing Coordinator develops, completes, and posts employee schedules according to department, location, and union guidelines (where applicable) which spans over 14 locations in multiple states. Maintains accurate and complete employee schedule records, including required certifications for direct patient care staff, availability of instructors for the Education Department Coordinates coordination of leaves of absence, including Medical, Military, Educational, Personal and intermittent. Ensures compliance for licensure of all employees, while also meeting minimum staffing requirements for community safety concerning 911 response needs. Identifies and coordinates staffing issues and effectively communicates information to appropriate staff. Coordinates and identifies coverage for employee absences to ensure sufficient staff is available for patient care on a 24-hour basis. Directly contacts staff through various formats to grant excused absences, communicate placement, and determine availability to work. Provides assistance in the development of scheduling and staffing policies and procedures. Facilitates student and Mayo Clinic staff ride along by working with area EMS programs and Mayo Clinic facilitators. Reviews and approves required student rider waiver forms and ensures contracts with EMS programs are up to date when scheduling ride along. Interacts professionally, works collaboratively, and effectively communicates with other Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service employees. Acquires and maintains current knowledge of the automated scheduling system and other computer applications. Uses appropriate problem-solving skills.



Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of EMS, scheduling, business, or education related experience. Associate's degree in Healthcare or Business preferred. Scheduling experience preferred. Must have computer experience and possess proficiency in technical office equipment (computer, printer, phone system, fax machine, scanning, etc.). Requires excellent application of grammar, punctuation, and English usage. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Typing skill of 60 WPM and experience with various business software as well as proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and database experience preferred.
