This position assists the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC) Nursing Department with scheduling and coordinating outside appointments and procedures for the community members of WRC . Actively assists the staffing coordinator with scheduling and filling shifts. This position will require working 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, to conduct business with various healthcare providers. The Wyoming Retirement Center is located in Basin, Wyoming, with many outdoor activities available. Within the first year of employment, this person will commit to completing and passing both a Certified Nurse Aide class and the State certification exam for a Certified Nurse Aide. WRC will pay for all CNA class and certification exam expenses. (Conditions apply. See NOTES below.) **This position is eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonus** See notes for eligibility and conditions Human Resource Contact: wdhaginghr@wyo.gov / 307-568-3464 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. + Facilitates resident appointments outside of the facility to include scheduling, necessary paperwork, transportation arrangements, and family notifications. + Assists in the transportation of residents to appointments, as necessary. + Assists the staffing coordinator in daily and monthly staff scheduling, filling shifts, and taking "on-call" duties. + Assists the staffing coordinator in the review/approval of nursing department timecards. Qualifications PREFERENCES/ **AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: Preference may be given to those with experience in a long-term care facility. ** Must be able to obtain a Nurse Aide Certification within the first 12 months of employment KNOWLEDGE: + Ability to use good oral and written communication skills. + Ability to take direction from a supervisor and efficiently follow that direction. + Knowledge of administrative responsibilities + Knowledge of computer applications, especially Google and Microsoft programs. + Knowledge of techniques and methods for producing written documents. + Skill in prioritizing work duties and managing multiple tasks. Skill in organization and time management. + Ability to function without constant supervision. + Ability to sit for extended periods and do repetitive motions. + Skill in data input procedures, filing methods. + Ability to pay close attention to details. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate's Degree (typically in Healthcare) Experience: No prior experience is required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CNA Certification obtained within twelve (12) months of hire OR Education & Experience Substitution: 1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Services) OR Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CNA Certification obtained within twelve (12) months of hire Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to: + Lift/transfer persons to different positions. + Lift persons and/or medical equipment of varying sizes and weights up to approximately 50 lbs. NOTES: + FLSA: Non-Exempt + The position is full-time. + For the health and protection of the persons, we care for, annual influenza vaccination is required, and annual testing for tuberculosis. + A background information check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant. + Pre-employment drug testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions (direct patient care positions are considered safety-sensitive). Drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on any position if reasonable suspicion exists. + The Wyoming Department of Health offers an excellent benefits package! + All expenses for the CNA class and one certification exam will be paid for by the Wyoming Retirement Center (WRC).
