Job Overview:

The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for scheduling all patient surgical procedures for the practice at affiliated hospitals and surgical centers for multiple Orthopedic Surgeons.

Travel Requirement:

Hybrid: This position requires on-site training for the first 4-6 weeks, followed by a hybrid work schedule of three days in the office and two days working remotely.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or EquivalentAt least 2 years' experience in a Surgical Coordinating role in busy multiple physician practiceKnowledge of medical terminology desirable. Word processing and computer experience

Preferred:

Bilingual in English/Spanish

Scheduling Requirements:

Working Shift: Monday-FridayDay Shift, 8:00AM-4:30PMFull-Time, 40 Hours Per Week

Essential Functions:

Obtaining correct surgical booking information, utilizing EMR, navigating through patient chart, placing PAT orders, following PAT completion, authorizations, acquiring patient PCP and specialty clearances, and scheduling pre-post operative appointments within the practiceConstant communication with hospitals, surgical centers, patients clearance providers, practice providers, and patients throughout the process of surgical optimizationExcellent customer service skills, problem solving skills, multitasking, self-sufficiency, detail oriented, and effective and clear communicator
