Scaled Partnerships Manager
**Summary:** Reality Labs Research Partnerships team is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced individual to help drive new partner relationships in the US Government (USG) sector for an emerging technology space. Your job is to work with leading researchers and technologists to figure out the technology landscape, partnership strategy and to define what mixed, virtual and augmented reality would look like 5+ years in the future. You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional team pushing on the visual aspect of the immersive computing experience: optics & displays, computer vision, AI/ML, materials, and related display technologies. Our mission is to keep advancing mixed and augmented reality; the work you do here will lay the foundation for MR/AR + AI experiences for years to come. **Required Skills:** Scaled Partnerships Manager Responsibilities: 1. The Strategic Partner Manager will drive the partnerships, manage the relationships, and grow partnerships success to accelerate research, development, adoption and commercialization of technology for the next generation AR/MR and wearable products. You will identify ways to grow the partnership after the initial deal closes. You will have experience working with multiple partners and be proficient at operating in ambiguity 2. Identify, define, negotiate, and close complex Intellectual Property, joint-development and licensing deals with startups, research institutes, public companies, and other ecosystem players innovating in AR/MR optics & displays, materials, wearable systems and related fields 3. Adapt to a rapidly changing environment and take a proactive, strategic and structured approach to complex partner management. Bridge short term goals with longer term strategy and be ready to create and execute a well-ordered framework of action with little to no direction 4. Define and manage partnership operations from the deal development stage through product launches, scale, nurture, and optimize partnerships beyond launch, identifying incremental, mutually beneficial opportunities to grow the partnership 5. Develop effective relationships with our key partners across Reality Labs Research, manage cross-functional partner meetings, and engagements. Manage the proper level partner relationships with a focus on continued growth of the partnership, and execution against contractual obligations 6. Maintain a cadence of regular syncs with partners to understand their roadmaps and priorities to proactively identify opportunities to grow the partnership beyond any initial deal 7. Advocate for the partner internally and for the Meta team's needs externally with the partner 8. Work cross-functionally with legal, finance, and research teams to negotiate deal and license terms, drive special projects, and advocate internally for technologies and partners 9. Drive joint steering committee meetings, key program work streams, and quarterly business reviews in coordination with research partners 10. Develop and influence technology and research roadmaps and ecosystem in various technology areas **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 11. 8+ years of business development experience with a track record of working with partners working on new-to-the-world technologies and bringing them to market 12. 8+ years of experience negotiating joint research and development agreements 13. Experience leading cross-functional teams to orchestrate and complete deals and projects 14. Experience with structuring and negotiating the business, technology and legal aspects of partnership agreements for technology licensing and joint development 15. Experience interpreting legal documents, negotiating contracts and working with attorneys to complete agreements 16. Experience in driving teams across partnerships to track and deliver on key program objectives **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 17. Experience and knowledge of the AR/VR/MR industry, with specific knowledge of optics & displays, materials, systems or related technologies 18. Creative, resourceful, detail-oriented and highly organized 19. Degree in Computer Science, Materials, Electrical or Optical Engineering 20. Proven analytical, communication and presentation skills with technical, contractual and financial issues 21. Experience in establishing relationships and presence within the consumer electronics sector with proven experience reaching and exceeding goals 22. Experience operating with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving and collaborative environment and working effectively cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internal and external 23. Experience building partnerships for new hardware products including managing complex processes and end-to-end negotiations 24. Experience in technical program management 25.
