The ideal candidate will have previous experience with the execution of design, programming, integration, implementation and commissioning of Controls and Building automation systems platforms such as EPMS (Electrical and Power Monitoring Systems), BAS Systems (Building Automation Systems), or BMS System (Building Monitor Systems) in a data center or industrial environment. They will troubleshoot, install, and make upgrades to existing automation systems for power and cooling systems in a live, mission-critical environment. They will assist in complete startup, commissioning, and validation procedures of these systems. They will collaborate with the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering / Design teams, Software Development teams, Project Managers, Construction Contractors, Equipment Vendors, Field Techs and Site Operations teams to ensure the reliability, proper operations, acceptance of new and modified installations, automations and software solutions. Applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of complete BMS, BAS, EPMS - coding, testing and operations.
Responsibilities:
Autonomous in day-to-day work with being given high level instruction on projects or assignmentsExecute and lead automation design teams of complex scope, and coordinate activities of other personnel as neededMentor engineers and assist with training and development on software standards to create a learning and growing environmentDesign and implement Front end SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) PlatformsDevelop and improve SCADA configuration, programming, networking, and diagnostic standardsLead development of UI / UX configuration standardsLead testing from Level 2 through 5 testing of SCADA in conjunction with field technicians and commissioning agentsDevelop proposals and timely completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables including project scope, schedule and budgetEffective time management of project design team including forecasting resources and resource coordination Identify potential project scope changes; aid in development of strategies to minimize impact and changes from estimated costs and project deadlinesQA/QC peer reviews for projects which candidate is not the engineerOptimize workflow and deliverables by developing templates, standards, automations, etc.Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders, subcontractors, project managers, AEs and commissioning agents on project progressAssist / Develop all project communication and reporting, weekly progress reports, etc.Requirements:
3-7 years + SCADA installation, testing, integration, commissioning of BMS Infrastructure (Building Management Systems) experienceExperience designing SCADA Platforms for complex data center/mission critical facilities Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar engineering degree a plusLicensed PE / EIT / Certifications a PlusIgnition Gold Certification a Huge PlusScripting in Ignition in Python modules - Vision, Perspective, Reporting, and Alarm NotificationSQL databases for database management and queriesKnowledge of networking concepts and config: TCP/IP, VLANs, LANs, VPNs and RSTPExperience working with common BAS and SCADA protocols BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, etc.Skilled with best practices for Cybersecurity related to SCADA systemPrevious Experience working with at UI/UX concepts, best practices and standardsSkilled at reviewing design drawings and equipment submittalsPerform code analysis including selection of equipment, wiring, etc. to meet code requirementsConduct code analysis and possess advanced knowledge of electrical codesAnalyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondenceClient facing experience and at times serve as primary point of client contact on various projectsAbility to successfully work independently; Self Starter and should prioritize wellEffective communicator - both oral and written form (tech and non-tech)Proactive, resourceful, delegator and a multitaskerExceptional organizational skills with an attention to detail Skilled in completing assignments accurately and in a timely mannerMS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)Ability to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training if neededPrevious experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus!
