SCA Engineering Technician I

As part of our production and overhaul team, you will help us ensure the integrity and reliability of the equipment we provide to those who protect us. Right now we are looking for electrical and mechanical assemblers to join our production and overhaul team. Here, you will have the opportunity to grow your career, working beside others who will help you learn new skills and improve existing ones in our team-oriented production environment. In this job, you will: Install, remove, fabricate, repair, and integrate electronic systems and components. Be instructed and participate in disassembling electronic systems for overhaul and conversion, fabricating and/or installing/integrating various multi-conductor harnesses, cable assemblies, electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, gearboxes, and other electronic assemblies. Perform your work in accordance with established work instructions, schematics, wire lists and engineering drawings. Attend BAE Systems provided training for cable fabrication, circuit card repair, and other courses that may be pertinent to tasking. Be required to use personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, and eye protection. Use hazardous materials such as grease, oil, epoxies, and cleaning compounds. Physical requirements of this job include: Periods of standing, sitting and bending Climbing ladders and stairs Working on elevated platforms Lifting/moving of materials weighing up to 40 lbs. This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** High School diploma or equivalent Knowledge and use of common hand tools Ability to read and understand assembly drawings **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** Electrical or mechanical training from a trade school or similar institution Ability to read schematics and wire run sheets Experience with the use of precision measuring devices **Pay Information** This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
