The Cast House is a structure that holds an aluminum smelter. Howmet Aerospace's smelters are among the safest in the world. Our modern aluminum smelter will require trained and skilled operators.
Position Summary: Operates production equipment to meet quality and production targets. This position will require operators to regularly rotate between duties.
Essential Duties:
Follows all safety proceduresOperates one or more pieces of equipment in a safe and efficient manner to produce quality products while keeping a quick pacePerforms compliance checks and completes paperwork, documentation and reportsCompletes required paperworkParticipates in TPM activitiesEnsures that 5S requirements are metAssists in problem solving of identified problems in the departmentClean equipment and lubricate to keep in like-new condition.Inspects equipment to identify and correct potential failures. Use error-proof/mistake-proof techniques to prevent failure. Identify, respond to, document problems and resolve to root cause.Analyze equipment performance data (via computer) to improve performance.Perform basic maintenance and lubrication tasks to prevent failure (TPM concepts).Participate in team meetings and provide suggestions to continuously improve all processesOperate hoist, trucks and other power-driven equipment.Work from standards, develop and revise as necessary to improve processes, eliminate waste and manage scrap.Operate all equipment as necessary and monitor system performance.Document saw blade, other tooling component changes to improve process-Determine and requisition required materials.Set-up, adjust and tend manual or automatic controlled robots and lubricating equipment.Control lubricant emissions to protect environment.Collect, analyze and react to production data.Perform quality checks, record data, and provide adjustments to achieve product requirements.Set-up and adjust equipment, , measurements etc. and monitor for consistent performance.Maintain identity of product (tracking) through the process.Use computer to obtain historical info. for problem solving.Load and unload trucks.Receive stock and approve deliveries and shipments.Operate Mobile Equipment
