Make It With Pride.** You execute the scientific and regulatory affairs strategy for your respective categories and geographical area using your scientific and regulatory expertise and ensure our portfolio is in regulatory and policy compliance. In addition, you execute policies, regulatory programs and requirements. **How you will contribute** You will execute the scientific and regulatory affairs strategy and ensure regulatory compliance. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to act on regulatory business risks and opportunities, advise and guide RDQ and business units on SARA opportunities and issues, provides scientific and regulatory affairs expertise for technical regulatory developments and help with responses to challenges and crisis management. In addition, you will ensure ingredients, product composition, claims and labelling compliance with regulations and company policies, and communicate to stakeholders on developments in scientific and regulatory affairs. You will also propose and implement business solutions to external regulatory changes, develop a strong knowledge of regulatory, scientific and nutrition risks and opportunities in your corresponding market, represent the company at external meetings and advocate for company positions. **What you will bring** A desire to drive your future and purpose and accelerate your career. You will bring experience and knowledge in: + Scientific affairs (industry, governmental, association background). + Understanding of the regulatory framework in your geographical area + Building collaborative relationships + Conducting technical assessments and supporting issues management and strategy development in the scientific affairs area + Thinking creatively and communicating effectively + Project management + Additional language skills for communications and correct interpretations of laws and regulations + SARA core knowledge topics (e.g. flavors, additives, GMO, organic, dietary or religious suitability, etc.) **POSITION PURPOSE** + This position provides regulatory expertise and guidance in support of the Vietnam business strategies and is responsible for clearance & risk management to ensure compliance with local product, regulatory, religious and code of practice requirements, as well as adherence to Mondelez internal policies and standards. + This person also guides and advises RDQ and business functions on regulatory issues, and opportunities on allowable claims and internal policy matters in support of Business Strategies and Goals. + The person also provides scientific and technical guidance and works with CGA and, Legal to effectively manage emerging external regulatory or compliance issues and provides support to special situation team in label and scientific related issues. + The person is the team lead of the local SARA team and provides sound advice to team members based on department & business needs. **MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES** **1. Regulatory Compliance** + Drive regulatory compliance activities of all imported products and products manufactured in Vietnam, including product formulations and raw materials + Ensuring smooth product notifications & approvals with local authorities for all imported & local products + Lead actions for compliance & propose any risk mitigation on a project-to-project basis to contribute to business by actively proposing appropriate actions about ingredients, materials, products & labelling + Work with R&D team to provide regulatory insights to support innovation & productivity initiatives and with commercial team to seek out the best compliance strategies + Tracking & updating business with regulatory developments with clear & specific communication of new & changed legislative requirements to relevant parts of the business – including follow up to ensure effective action has been taken **2. External Advocacy** + Develop, maintain & enhance positive engagements with cross functional teams, through various projects and engage with stakeholders to communicate science. + Represent the company on identified technical committee and industry association to drive, influence and deliver company’s agenda and positions through larger groups (eg: AmCham, VSQI, VFA, Codex Committee) + Identify regulatory opportunities that would be beneficial to business, develop strategies to realise these opportunities + Provide regulatory insights to the business to ensure innovation strategies take account of regulatory development and vice versa; provide input to innovation agenda to the advantage of the business **JOB REQUIREMENTS** + Bachelor's or master's degree in Chemistry, Food Technology,Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related fields with food law dedication + Minimum 4 - 7 years of experience in SARA and/or related RD&Q areas, representing the company in industrial associations driving aligned positions following code of conduct + Good knowledge of the national Food law regulations as well as International Standards + Good communication and ability to negotiate and influence others with respect to food regulation issues + Problem-solving and project management, risk management skills + Continuous improvement and change management skills + Ability to provide strategic input, leadership and technical expertise in management of stakeholders **Number of Openings Available** 1 No Relocation support available **Business Unit Summary** **Headquartered in Singapore, Mondelēz International’s Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region is comprised of six business units, has more than 21,000 employees and operates in more than 27 countries including Australia, China, Indonesia, Ghana, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. Seventy-six nationalities work across a network of more than 35 manufacturing plants, three global research and development technical centers and in offices stretching from Auckland, New Zealand to Casablanca, Morocco.
