The SAR Analyst I is responsible for reviewing alerts generated from complex monitoring systems to prepare detailed written filing reports that precisely document and summarize findings of suspicious banking activity in accordance with Bank Secrecy Act regulations. This includes researching, analyzing and evaluating possible suspicious transactional activity as part of the due diligence process utilizing databases, financial statements, and AML software to employ, interpret, and present data in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
·Analyzes financial statements and transaction data patterns in order to evaluate accounts flagged for possible suspicious activity as defined by FFIEC guidelines.
·Performs confidential internal and external research in order to accurately describe details of suspicious activity, such as identification of potential suspects, time and place of incidents, and cause of activity.
·Works closely with branch personnel to identify irregular customer behavior.
·Prepares detailed written Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to precisely and accurately document findings in accordance with regulatory requirements and deadlines.
·Reviews accounts with recent SAR filings to track any additional suspicious activity.

·Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines in a fast paced, high volume environment.
·Exceptional business writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism while interacting with regulators, customers, and internal team members.
·Exceptional analytical, cross-referencing, and deductive reasoning skills, with abilities in analyzing data patterns and investigating customer transactions.
·Self starter possessing the ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
·Ability to effectively document findings and escalate to management when needed.
·Strong attention to detail to ensure a high degree of accuracy.
·Familiarity with banking policies, procedures, laws and regulations as they relate to the Bank Secrecy Act with working knowledge of FinCEN reporting guidelines.
·Experience with case management systems, databases, and/or similar automation.
·Proficiency with, or ability to quickly gain proficiency with, bank account monitoring software (Bancline, Mozart and Vision Archive), Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook) and BSA compliance software (BAM).
