SAP Supply Chain Planner
Job Title: SAP Supply Chain Planner Job Description The SAP Supply Chain Planner plays a key role in short-term and long-term supply planning for finished goods within a fast-moving, high-volume consumer products environment. This role focuses on optimizing service, inventory, and waste performance while managing production, co-manufacturing, and material planning through SAP APO and related planning systems. The planner collaborates closely with cross-functional teams across the end-to-end supply chain to ensure reliable customer service, strong fill rates, and continuous improvement of planning processes and KPIs. Responsibilities + Own short-term and long-term supply planning activities for finished goods, ensuring product availability to meet customer demand. + Develop and maintain detailed production plans that align with manufacturing capabilities, capacity constraints, and business priorities. + Plan and coordinate co-manufacturing activities, ensuring external manufacturing partners have the materials and schedules needed to meet service targets. + Execute mid-term and long-term planning to balance capacity, inventory, and service levels across the planning horizon. + Monitor and manage key KPIs including customer service, fill rate, inventory levels, and waste, and take proactive actions to improve performance. + Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Procurement, Demand Planning, Replenishment/Customer Supply, Marketing, and Sales to align plans and resolve issues. + Use master scheduling, MRP, and capacity planning tools to generate and maintain accurate supply and production plans. + Leverage SAP and planning systems, including SAP APO, to perform supply planning, production scheduling, and material planning. + Lead or participate in supply reviews, providing clear visibility on risks, constraints, and recommended actions. + Identify and escalate supply risks in a timely manner, proposing mitigation plans and alternatives to protect customer service. + Manage constraints and bottlenecks across the supply chain, adjusting plans to optimize capacity utilization and service. + Drive issue resolution related to supply disruptions, material shortages, and schedule changes, coordinating with relevant stakeholders. + Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning optimization, process efficiency, and KPI improvement. + Contribute to planning improvements that reduce waste, optimize inventory, and enhance service performance. + Prepare and maintain reporting and analytics in tools such as Microsoft Excel to support decision-making and performance tracking. Essential Skills + 3 to 5 years of experience in supply planning and long-term planning for finished goods in a fast-moving, high-volume environment. + Proven history in supply planning, production planning, materials planning, or logistics. + Hands-on experience using SAP APO for supply planning, production scheduling, and material planning. + Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, including MRP, master scheduling, and capacity planning. + Experience working in a CPG/FMCG environment with exposure to high-volume, fast-moving products. + Proficiency with ERP and planning tools, particularly SAP and related systems. + Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and planning support. + Demonstrated ability to manage KPIs such as customer service, fill rate, inventory, and waste. + Experience collaborating across functions such as Manufacturing, Procurement, Demand Planning, Replenishment/Customer Supply, Marketing, and Sales. + University degree or professional designation in a relevant field. + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and issue resolution skills with the ability to manage constraints and risks. + Ability to drive continuous improvement and planning optimization initiatives. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Professional certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, or IBF credentials are an asset. + Experience across procurement, manufacturing, customer supply, or demand planning, providing end-to-end supply chain exposure. + Experience planning for external manufacturing partners and managing co-manufacturing relationships. + Proven track record of leading or contributing to planning improvements focused on service, inventory optimization, and waste reduction. + Experience working with co-manufacturing and material planning in a complex manufacturing network. + Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multi-functional teams. + Ability to adapt to a flexible and dynamic work rhythm and manage multiple priorities. Work Environment The SAP Supply Chain Planner will join an established team within a specific product category, typically working alongside 3 to 6 team members. The role is based in a large international manufacturing organization with exposure to multiple offices and plants across the Greater Toronto Area. A hybrid work model is in place, with approximately 1 to 2 days per week in the office, which may include locations such as Gladstone or Brampton, depending on the candidate’s residence and team assignment. The standard work schedule is 40 hours per week, generally from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and overtime is not typically required.
