The SAP IT Software Engineer is a key member of our IT Engineering team. This role is responsible for translating system requirements and user stories into a robust supportable design of code for the product or application. The IT Software Engineer will develop and test code to ensure it functions as designed and will implement code across the software development life cycle steps for deployment and integration.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer in SAP, you will play a crucial role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining SAP applications and systems. Your responsibilities will include:
Design, develop, and implement SAP solutions based on functional specifications and business requirements.
Customize existing SAP modules and applications to meet specific business needs.
Participate in requirements gathering sessions and document technical specifications.
Work on integrating SAP solutions with other enterprise systems and applications to ensure seamless data flow and process efficiency.
Participate in the design and implementation of interfaces between SAP and non-SAP systems.
Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for SAP applications to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement solutions effectively.
Conduct unit testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that developed solutions meet requirements and function correctly.
Document technical specifications, development processes, and system configurations for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Conduct unit testing and assist in system testing to ensure quality delivery.
Maintain documentation for technical specifications, user manuals, and system configurations.
Ensure that all developed solutions comply with internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and maintain system integrity.
Job Qualifications
Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
3+ years of experience working with SAP solutions, preferably in roles involving development, customization, and support.
Hands-on experience with specific SAP modules relevant to the organization's needs (e.g., SAP FI, CO, or ABAP) is a plus
Experience in ABAP programming for developing custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms.
Familiarity with SAP HANA, Fiori, and other modern SAP technologies and frameworks.
Understanding of SAP configuration and integration with other systems (e.g., middleware, APIs).
Experience with database management systems and SQL, particularly in relation to SAP data structures.
Knowledge of SAP best practices and methodologies, including Agile or Scrum framework as well as related project management tools is desirable.
Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Development Associate or SAP Certified Technology Associate) are advantageous but not mandatory
Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Willingness to engage in ongoing training and development to keep up with evolving SAP technologies and industry trends
Proven experience in project management methodologies and practices.
Fluent in English
