SAP ABAP Application Manager
Job Location San José Job Description We are seeking a Technical Application Manager with strong expertise in SAP ABAP, with a specific focus on supporting financial applications. The ideal candidate should have in-depth experience with SAP systems and a thorough understanding of SAP FI modules, particularly in areas related to tax processing and financial reporting. This position involves both daily operational support and participation in strategic initiatives to enhance financial systems. The role is part of the Software Management job family, requiring the application of project management and governance principles, collaboration with third-party vendors, and alignment of technical solutions with business requirements. As a Software Manager - Band 1, you will be responsible for translating business requirements and user stories into clean, maintainable ABAP code. You will work closely with product and operations teams to ensure seamless integration with related systems and may also contribute to architecture and design decisions where applicable. Key Responsibilities: + Develop, support, and maintain SAP ABAP code with a focus on financial applications. + Possess strong knowledge of SAP FI modules, especially in tax-related areas. + Develop and maintain a product roadmap aligned with business goals and user needs. + Support Agile software development life cycles, including deployment and integration activities. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality SAP solutions on time. + Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and system vulnerabilities. + Monitor application performance and gather user feedback for continuous improvement. + Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance processes. + Provide training and support to end-users and internal stakeholders. + Effectively communicate technical challenges and opportunities to service owners. Job Qualifications + Proven experience as an SAP ABAP Developer. + Strong working knowledge of SAP FI module, particularly in tax and financial data structures. + Familiarity with SAP FI database schemas, including key tables and relationships. + Basic understanding of Integrated Risk Management and IT Operations. + Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus. + Prior experience collaborating in cross-functional and multicultural teams. + Demonstrated willingness to share knowledge and contribute to team development. + A mindset geared toward professional growth and long-term contribution within the organization.
