Sanitation Team Leader

In this leadership role, you are an internal technical master at the line level who ensures the line team is performing at a level that sustains and improves business results on one or more of 6 stars model. You model priority setting, manage the plan-do-check- adjust cycle and provide coaching and training for your team.

How you will contribute

You are a key ingredient in helping us change how the world snacks. You will operate and maintain equipment to build technical mastery and to deliver on safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets, understanding losses in your area and taking the appropriate action to eliminate them. You will use autonomous and progressive maintenance standards to maintain equipment and support new product development. In this role, you will ensure that safety processes are observed [e.g. safety maps, lock out tag out (LOTO) , behavior observation system (BOS) and root-cause analysis (RCA)], that quality assurance activities are performed to ensure zero harm and 100 percent good-quality products, and that resources are properly allocated and available during the shift. You will take the lead for shutdown maintenance, root-cause analysis, stops reductions loss analysis and breakdown elimination.

Maintain and adhere to the Master Sanitation Schedule and support its evolution with a continuous improvement mindset.

Develop and maintain cleaning procedures (SSOPs) and validate them for effectiveness, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Drive the team to build their capabilities through effective and efficient training and education.

Promote people safety through training, coaching, recognition and if necessary, disciplinary action.

Manage the department’s Chemical Program.

Manage the department’s Pest Control Program.

Drive a food safety culture of Audit-Ready-Everyday through coaching and enabling Sanitation, Operations, Warehouse and Maintenance FLLs and Operators.

Manage solid and liquid waste removal in coordination with other departments.

Plan and coordinate contractor activities for infrastructure, janitorial services, pest control and other activities related to food safety.

Identify and report equipment and infrastructure where there may be hygienic design gaps that prevent effective cleaning or are food safety risks.

Support the Sanitation Program Manager in the management of employee relations to adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement while ensuring that physical, human, and financial resources are adequate to meet program needs and the program budget.

Be an active participant and leader in the company’s Lean-Six Sigma (10+5) initiatives.

Lead and participate in GMP and Food Safety and Quality internal audits for the designated area of responsibility.

Be prepared to present results for compliance during 1st and 2nd party audits.

Track performance metrics and prepare and present weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual KPI reports for the department.

Attend Line meetings and department and other required meetings and be prepared to present required data in them. Other duties as assigned by The Sanitation Program Manager

You are responsible for driving and coordinating cleaning and housekeeping activities performed by operations teams and collaborating with the Maintenance Team in the resolution of equipment and infrastructure compliance opportunities that affect cleaning and sanitation and pest control. Support the Sanitation Program Manager in identifying and closing gaps in the department’s programs. You grow your team’s capabilities and coordinate departmental activities in accordance with corporate standards, local requirements, FSSC and ISO standards. In this role, you report directly to the Sanitation Program Manager

Education / Certifications: Associate degree

Work schedule: 3PM to 11PM Monday to Friday (flexible working days)

Salary and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $77,600 to $106,700; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
