The Sanitation Operator (2nd Shift) provides support to the manufacturing facility in the effective use of chemicals, cleaning processes, and sanitation equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and sanitizing both the infrastructure of the plant and the equipment. Ensure consistent cleanliness of assigned equipment and plant areas as per sanitation operating procedures within minimum requirements. Responsible for understanding and applying safe chemical handling practices. Follow company policies, good manufacturing practices (GMPs), and standard operating procedures. Disassemble and assemble equipment parts according to cleaning procedures. Assist with training, developing, investigating, and supporting the efforts of the quality, production, and R&D in resolving various sanitation and food protection issues from customers. Assist with setting standards to maintain and clean equipment by use of a Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS). Complete work/project assignments and production sequences to meet production goals. Stay current on application requirements for pesticide sequences to meet production goals. Follow rules/regulations regarding food protection, GMP’s and FDA. Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained.

 

About you:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required Six (6) months (desired but not required) and/or specific On-the-Job Training (OJT) under supervision. Familiar with manufacturing systems, HACCP, and Quality Systems. Knowledge of food laws, US and International standards, and regulations. Understand appropriate wet and dry cleaning methodology. Able to identify the appropriate cleaning method and can synthesize knowledge to evaluate situations and make effective recommendations. Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control points and Sanitation principles.
