Reporting to and in partnership with the Statewide Program Director, the Bay Area Program Manager (referred to as "Program Manager") will provide essential support to EnCorps’ mission to support and mentor the best and brightest science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) professionals as an innovative, long-term solution to the shortage of high-quality, impactful educators for under-resourced students in high-needs communities. The Program Manager is a full-time (40 hours/week) position, ideally based in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, which includes San Jose, Oakland, and San Francisco. The Program Manager’s primary responsibility is to support and mentor our Bay Area Fellows—STEM professionals at various stages of exploring a career in teaching. This role works in close collaboration with other regional staff and the Statewide Program Director. The Program Manager will serve as the Fellow's primary point of contact as they move through a structured Fellowship experience, and will spend most of their time and attention on Fellows during their pre-credential/exploring teaching phase. The Program Manager will be responsible for placing and managing their Fellows' volunteer experience onsite at a partner school, as well as advising, coaching, and mentoring Fellows as they explore teaching and potentially pursue admittance to a teaching credential program. For Fellows already in credentialing who are already teaching, the Program Manager will serve as support on an as-needed and as-requested basis. Additionally, the Program Manager will be responsible for helping to plan and execute professional development activities and events for the entire cohort of Fellows. The Program Manager will benefit from having tools and protocols developed in-house that will shape and guide all aspects of a Fellow’s experience and will have the opportunity to provide feedback in order to improve these tools and protocols.
