Job DescriptionPerforms a variety of sample preparation responsibilities in compliance with appropriate SOPs and regulatory guidelines, in support of departmental operations. Position will be introduced to food and dietary supplements for microbiology testing.Learns sample accession tasks including opening, registering, tracking, labeling, sending, and disposing of samplesLearns to coordinate with client services to establish or update customer service procedures, with guidance, as appropriate.Learns to communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel and assist with problem solving.Learns to handle internal customer inquiries, solve problems with assistance, and contact internal clients for clarification as needed.Learns Eurofins Laboratory Information System (eLIMS) and how to use in daily duties.Learns how to weigh and prepare samples for basic USP testing.Demonstrates and promotes the company visionShows regular attendance and punctuality.Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate.Applies proper aseptic technique when prepping samples.Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsA minimum of an associate degree (in related science is preferred). Relevant coursework and/or experience may be substituted for degree.Working knowledge of computers.Ability to identify and communicate client’s service needs.Ability to learn new tasks.Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently.Customer service skills including attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality and communication skills (is preferred).Additional InformationMandatory immunizations and screening as required.Will be exposed to potential food allergens (ex. Milk, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, etc.).Overtime and weekend work as required.Job requires long periods of time sitting or standing at a computer.Must be able to lift approximately 35 lbs. for short periods of time.
Expected to understand the process for handling hazardous wastes and receive on-the-job training for handling specific waste types in their job area.
