Sample Registration Technician
Position Summary

The Sample Accessioning Technician is responsible for the accurate receipt, verification, registration, and organization of incoming laboratory samples. This role ensures that all samples are properly documented, labeled, and stored to support timely and high-quality testing. The technician plays a key role in maintaining data integrity, adhering to regulatory standards, and supporting efficient laboratory workflows.

Key ResponsibilitiesSample Receipt & VerificationReceive and inspect incoming samples for accuracy and integrity, ensuring alignment with accompanying documentation (e.g., client information, sample type, requested tests).Verify labeling, condition, and temperature of samples upon arrival.Identify and escalate discrepancies or damaged samples to the supervisor promptly.Data Entry & Sample RegistrationAccurately enter sample information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).Assign appropriate testing parameters based on client specifications and sample type.Maintain meticulous records to ensure traceability and compliance.Sample Handling & StorageOrganize and prioritize samples based on testing urgency and stability requirements.Label and store samples in designated areas following laboratory protocols.Manage sample retention and disposal in accordance with regulatory guidelines.Quality Assurance & ComplianceFollow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control protocols.Monitor for and report any deviations or quality concerns.Participate in internal audits, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.Communication & CollaborationLiaise with laboratory staff, clients, and other departments to resolve sample-related inquiries.Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely processing.Support cross-functional tasks as needed to maintain operational efficiency.Required Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Basic computer proficiency; experience with LIMS preferred.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and regulatory compliance.Preferred SkillsExperience in sample accessioning, laboratory operations, or data entry.Knowledge of laboratory terminology and testing workflows.Prior exposure to invoicing, sample assembly, and laboratory documentation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
