Job DescriptionThe Sample Management Group Leader provides laboratory management with daily assessments of sample receipts, weekly turnaround reports, and retrieval of samples for ongoing analysis. Manages Quality Assurance and Evironmental Health & Safety issues for department. Responsible for department budget. Oversees the receipt, log in, and storage of samples. Monitors the preparation and shipment of bottle kits to clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Logs samples into LIMS to expedite the analysis process.Labels samples for tracking purposes.Delivery of samples to analysts.Prepares bottle kits for delivery to clients.Disposes of samples to meet regulatory specifications.Ships all subcontracted samples to designated lab for tests not performed in onsite.Performs weekly inventory and budget documentation.Prepares the weekly TAT report to communicate department TAT to laboratory management. Attends monthly compliance and EH&S meetings.Orders department supplies as needed.Follows up on responsibilities delegated to Sample Control Technicians.Writes and delivers annual performance reviews to all direct reports.Documents training received for all Sample Control Technicians.Oversees the removal of all samples from the walk-in to the sample disposal area.Maintains PM corrective action book to ensure no sample hold times are exceeded.Leads auditors through department during audits and explains department procedures.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentShipping/receiving experience required,management experience preferredAbility / Skills:
Basic knowledge of laboratory chemicalUse of basic laboratory calibration instrumentsComputer skillsHandle multiple priorities and changing prioritiesCommunicate at all levels of organizationAdditional InformationThis is a full-time position Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm with possible overtime and weekend as needed.
Compensation: $28 - $35 / hour .
