Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the compliant receipt, storage, management, shipment, and distribution of samples, reference standards, and critical reagents to support analytical testing. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring proper chain of custody, and supporting cross-functional stakeholders in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, log, store, and distribute samples, reference standards, and critical reagents in compliance with GxP requirements and site-specific SOPs.Handle and process incoming and outgoing sample shipments, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations, temperature control requirements, and proper documentation.Ensure proper chain of custody for all samples, maintaining accurate and traceable records in systems such as DLIMS (Development Laboratory Information System) or equivalent platforms.Prepare and verify sample aliquots, ensuring accuracy of volumes, labeling, and traceability.Maintain controlled temperature storage units (e.g., refrigerators, freezers, environmental chambers) and ensure materials remain within defined conditions.Perform routine inventory reconciliation and promptly address discrepancies.Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and records of sample management activities.Review and verify incoming documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.Identify and escalate deviations or nonconformities in a timely manner, ensuring proper documentation and communication.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Analytical Sciences, Manufacturing, Formulation, Research and Development, etc.) to ensure business needs are met.Work with hazardous materials, including but not limited to antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), biologics, and other complex sample types as determined by business requirements.Complete all assigned activities following established GxP, safety protocols, and company policies.Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Associate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree in a life science-related field.Demonstrated experience in sample receipt, storage, shipment, distribution, or analytical support in a regulated environment.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Effective interpersonal and communication skills for working across departments.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new electronic systems (e.g. DLIMS, or equivalent).Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), biologics, and other hazardous sample types, with willingness to work with them as needed.Experience handling reference standards, GMP/GLP samples, or materials in controlled environments.Previous experience supporting audits, inspections, or regulatory compliance.Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work both independently and as part of a team.Willingness to provide flexible shift or weekend coverage as required.Key Attributes
