Are you an experienced and detail-oriented tax professional with a passion for compliance and analysis? A dynamic organization in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Sales Tax Analyst to join their team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring sales tax compliance, analyzing tax data, and supporting overall tax planning and reporting efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Sales Tax Compliance: Prepare, file, and reconcile sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions within required deadlines.
+ Tax Analysis and Reporting: Research tax regulations, resolve discrepancies, and prepare monthly and quarterly tax reports.
+ Audits and Reviews: Assist with tax audits, including gathering and analyzing documentation requested by tax authorities.
+ Systems and Technology: Utilize financial systems and accounting software to maintain tax records and ensure accurate reporting.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with accounting and finance teams to gather necessary data for reporting and compliance.
+ Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in tax reporting and filing to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
+ Proactive Research: Stay informed of changes in sales tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with new requirements.

Requirements
Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
+ 2+ years of experience in sales tax preparation, compliance, or analysis.
+ Strong understanding of sales and use tax regulations across different states.
+ Proficiency in tax-related software and tools (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, or similar).
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.).
+ Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
+ Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA is a plus.
+ Experience in multi-state sales tax compliance is highly desired.
+ Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is beneficial.
+ Familiarity with tax audits and dealing with state or local tax authorities.
