Sales Support Engineer(Temporary, 18 months)

We are looking for a Sales Support Engineer, Shaft Line Solution in Korea. This is a temporary opportunity (18 months) to cover the absence due to the long-term paternity leave, and its location is Busan, Korea.

 

In this position, you will be a part of the SLS Area Sales team in the global SLS Sales & Delivery organisation. The SLS Area Sales team delivers business growth in the Commercial Marine market with a proactive sales approach focused on ship owners, ship management, shipyards and partners targeting new build projects and life cycle vessel support.  


What will you be doing:
As Sales Support Engineer, Shaft Line Solution, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

Generate customer-specific solutions, specifications, and quotations according to the needs of Sales, for the SLS portfolio for New Build and Aftermarket business. Support the sales manager with bid management. Evaluate inquiries and register/maintain opportunity information in CRM. Support sales manager to configure solutions according to defined needs. Work with the sales manager to prepare cost calculations according to directives and agreed targets. Evaluate technical and environmental risks of the solution. Support Spare Parts Coordination team in upselling opportunities Ensure that response times for sales inquiries/requests/orders are met. Provide technical assistance to the sales team and customers. Participate in relevant sales meetings with customers when required. Organize and perform relevant process handover meetings with involved parties.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

Bsc. in Engineering or in other related disciplines At least 1 year working experience in Seals and Bearings, or more than 3 years working experience in marine and offshore industry Continuous learning attitude to drive performance and foster a positive can-do mindset Ability to be an excellent team-player who can work closely with local and global team of internal stakeholders & external customers Excellent interpersonal skill and capability of building business relationships Good knowledge of MS Office and CRM (Salesforce) applications Fluent Proficiency in Korean, spoken and written Good Proficiency in English, spoken and written (other language skills are considered as a benefit) Willingness to travel upon the request Understanding to the value of collaboration and benefits it brings High attention to detail and comprehension, while maintaining a proactive and flexible mindset Passion about creating clear business value with a goal-oriented mindset

 

It would be seen as a plus that you have:

Knowledge of regional markets and products (e.g., lip and mechanical seals, bearings, and other shaft line equipment) Understanding of Wärtsilä's purpose and values Technical and engineering knowledge
