Key responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end handling of inbound leads across all industry segments (primarily General and Consumer Industry), with a focus on opportunity qualification, virtual customer interaction, and early-stage business development. You will support our growth strategy by identifying promising business opportunities, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring a seamless handover to the responsible sales colleagues for larger projects. Your work contributes directly to the growth of our Business Line Industries within ABB Robotics in Germany.

This role is contributing to the Business Line Industries within ABB Robotics & Discrete Automation in Germany. Main stakeholders include internal Segment Sales Specialists, Marketing, Product Management and Business Development, as well as external customers and partners.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Identifying and qualifying incoming leads through customer contact (primarily via phone/video); assessing potential and documenting in Salesforce
Timely processing of leads, including qualification and – depending on the revenue potential – handover to the responsible Field Sales colleagues from the respective segments
Building and maintaining customer relationships, especially for smaller potential customers (smaller potential and new customers)
Preparation and virtual presentation of offers, as well as conducting virtual sales meetings and, where required, on-site customer visits (travel approx. 30%)
Collaborating with Marketing and Sales to align lead development activities and targeted campaigns
Monitoring competitor activities and customers’ needs to support continuous improvement of our market approach
You will join a motivated and agile team, with effective alignment to Marketing and Field Sales. You will have the opportunity to effectively shape how we manage and develop customer leads across all industry segments.
Qualifications for the role
Degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Industrial Engineering) or in Business Administration – alternatively, a completed technical or commercial apprenticeship combined with relevant professional experience; technician degree also welcome.
First experience in technical B2B sales and/or inside sales, ideally in automation or robotics is an advantage
Proficient communication skills, digital presentation skills, and customer focus
Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools is an advantage
High degree of initiative, motivation, and readiness for organized change
Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
Willingness to travel across Germany (up to 30%)
