Sales Representative For Food Distribution Job Description As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for selling food and non-food items to both new and existing customers. Your role involves identifying and developing new customer relationships while achieving sales and gross profit goals. You will represent the company professionally, managing business relationships with food service operators. Responsibilities + Sell food and non-food items to new and existing customers, focusing on identifying and developing new customer relationships to achieve sales and gross profit goals. + Represent the company in a professional and knowledgeable manner, ensuring a positive image and strong business relationships. + Manage the business relationship between food service operators and the company, growing sales by acquiring new customers and introducing new items to current accounts. + Oversee all accounts regarding Accounts Receivables, working closely with the credit department to keep all accounts current. + Identify and create a need for products from all categories offered by the company, ensuring customers are aware of the full range of offerings. + Record and transmit all customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring client satisfaction. + Visit customers on a consistent basis as agreed upon, maintaining strong relationships and addressing any needs. + Adhere to the delivery schedule as pre-determined by the Transportation Department, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. + Handle all customer service issues necessary to maintain a good business relationship between the customer and the company. + Attend sales meetings, food shows, and other events hosted by the company to stay informed and engaged with industry trends. + Perform other duties as directed by the Sales Manager/Director. + Follow all rules outlined in the Employee Handbook, ensuring agreement and compliance. Essential Skills + 1-2 years of sales experience + Strong communication and people skills + Ability to manage current accounts and prospect new clients + Problem-solving and organizational skills Additional Skills & Qualifications + Food service or food distribution experience (highly preferred) + Bilingual in Spanish and English (nice to have) + Competitive spirit and results-driven mentality + Proficiency in Microsoft Office + Ability to cover Long Island OR New York City territory Work Environment The role involves travel within the designated territory, with occasional visits to HQ in the Bronx. Territories available include Long Island and NYC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.26/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
