Sales Manager

Our client is a rapidly growing wholesale food distribution company, selling primarily within foodservice. They are seeking a dedicated Sales Manager to join their team based in Ottawa, Ontario.

They are focused on strategic expansion and building a high-performance sales team to support their growth trajectory.

The experienced and driven Sales Manager will take the lead in developing a new sales territory. This is a hands-on role initially focused on direct sales and customer acquisition. Once the foundation is set, the Sales Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of high-performing sales representatives to scale the territory.

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:

Identifying and developing new business opportunities within your assigned region Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients Developing and executing a territory growth strategy Setting sales goals and driving performance to exceed targets Hiring, onboarding, and leading a team of sales representatives Providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management Monitoring market trends and customer needs to inform strategic planning Reporting on sales metrics and forecasts to senior leadership Contributing to the company’s growth

Qualifications:

Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably in wholesale foodservice Minimum 3–5 years of sales management experience A strong ability to work independently and take initiative Experience in building and managing high-performance sales teams Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the territory (including, but not limited to, a 2-hour radius from Ottawa). For the first 90 days, most of your time will be spent in the Kingston area, followed by working mainly from Ottawa
