Dynamic Exposure: Immerse yourself in our business units, including Human Resources, Revenue Management, Communications, Finance and Accounting, IT, and Marine Operations.

Key Details: 

Hybrid Program: This internship is a hybrid program based in Miami, Florida. Students must be available for the entire duration of the program and willing to work a hybrid schedule, combining both in-office and remote work. This is a full-time opportunity, with interns working 40 hours per week. While hours may vary, interns can expect to work from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. 

Relocation Support: Carnival provides housing for interns who are relocating to Miami for the summer. 

Eligibility: Juniors, seniors, and graduate students are preferred for the program. 

Technical Requirements: Interns will be provided with a company-issued laptop and will need reliable internet when working remotely.

IT Sales & Guest Services 

Department Summary 

The IT Sales & Guest Services team provides defect resolution and functional enhancements that support all the reservation applications at Carnival Cruise Line, specifically focusing on Navigator (our in-house developed booking application) along with its support apps. 

Our work facilitates the making and management of billions of dollars-worth of bookings each year, making us a mission-critical team. 

 

Internship Project Summary 

 

While the specific project assignment will be determined closer to the internship start date, the intern will likely be involved in a full-cycle enhancement initiative. This includes participating in analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support. 

This hands-on experience will expose the intern to both technical processes and cross-functional collaboration with IT and business teams, offering a comprehensive view of how enhancements are delivered in a fast-paced environment. 

Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities) 

 

Assist in the analysis and design of a selected enhancement request 

Support development efforts alongside the engineering team 

Participate in unit and system testing, and assist with UAT coordination 

Contribute to production deployment activities 

Help monitor and stabilize enhancements post-deployment 

 

 

Learning Outcomes 

 

This internship will provide the opportunity to: 

Gain practical experience in analyzing and designing business-critical software components 

Learn the full lifecycle of software development and deployment 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and business stakeholders 

Understand the cruise booking process and how technology supports sales and guest services 

Develop technical and project management skills in a real-world setting 

 

Specific Qualifications 

Ideally, our candidate: 

Is pursuing a BS in Computer Science or a related field 

Has strong communication skills and enjoys working in a team environment 

Is curious, proactive, and not afraid to ask questions 

Has familiarity with the .NET development stack (preferred) 

Has some exposure to SQL (a plus, but not required) 

Is proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
