Sales and Operations Planning Intern
Emerson’s T&M S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) team is looking for a highly motivated intern to support analytics, reporting, and automation initiatives during a 12-week internship. This role is ideal for someone with a strong IT/data foundation who enjoys turning messy data into clean insights, building dashboards for leadership, and improving reporting processes through automation. You will work closely with S&OP and Demand Planning Team to help deliver executive-ready dashboards and reports that improve visibility and decision-making across planning and performance management. **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will:** + Support the T&M S&OP team with weekly/monthly reporting and ad-hoc analytics. + Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and executive-level reports (KPIs, trends, exceptions, root causes). + Perform data manipulation and analysis (cleaning, transforming, validating, and reconciling data from multiple sources). + Automate repetitive reporting tasks to improve accuracy and reduce manual effort (e.g., Power Query, scripts, workflow improvements). + Help define and document data definitions, report logic, refresh cadence, and dashboard governance. + Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, iterate on dashboard/report design, and ensure outputs meets business needs. + Ensure deliverables are reliable, scalable, and easy to maintain with clear documentation and handover notes. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field + Strong IT / technical background with demonstrated ability to work with data end-to-end + Hands-on experience with Power BI (dashboards, data modeling, DAX fundamentals, Power Query) **Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:** + Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. + Experience in data manipulation/analysis (e.g., Excel advanced, SQL or similar tools) + Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs with minimal supervision + Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences **Our Culture & Commitment to You:** National Instruments is now the Test & Measurement (T&M) BU in the Emerson Portfolio.
