The Position

The Opportunity

You, as a Sales and Application Specialist, play a crucial role in this mission by representing Roche Diagnostics’ values and fostering co-creation based on a deep understanding of customer needs. This role focuses on building and maintaining sustainable, long-term partnerships. Through continuous market monitoring, data collection, and analysis, you identify new market segments and business opportunities. Key responsibilities also include device installation and commissioning within the Roche Molecular Systems (RMS)) area, as well as providing comprehensive application support. 

You collaborate closely with customers to optimize the diagnostic performance of Roche systems, reagents, and instruments, while being accountable for achieving financial and professional targets. In addition, you collaborate with Sales Representatives, Product Managers, and contribute to the division’s overall quality objectives.

Possess in-depth knowledge of the assigned Roche Molecular Systems (RMS) product portfolio and market landscape

Build and maintain long-term, trust-based customer relationships, collaborate with customers to co-create sustainable, tailor-made solutions and plan and conduct customer visits in alignment with segmentation strategy

Proactively monitor market trends, analyze relevant data, and identify new segments and business opportunities, continuously track and analyze competitor activities and product offerings and continuously monitors the realization of own business plan both at the customer level and across the entire territory

Serve as the primary technical support contact for assigned customer accounts, perform installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of systems

Deliver on-site and remote application support (via phone or remote connection such as Axeda), carry out system and reagent adjustments and upgrades (e.g. software, instruments, tests) and monitor and validate the operational quality of equipment

Deliver user trainings for customers, including instrument operation, maintenance, and follow-up sessions and document all interactions and ensure proper administration in the CRM system (Rexis)

Participate in scientific conferences, Roche-hosted events, and other industry activities and actively contribute to cross-functional teams and squads, building strong internal networks and collaborating across departments

Who you are

Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Biology / Bio-Engineering and valid category B driving license, willingness to travel  with experience in a similar role, experience with laboratory devices and digital savviness

High level of IT and digital  literacy, ability to flawlessly communicate on Roche interfaces, programs and demonstrating end-to-end accountability/ownership, business acumen, excellent customer orientation and service mindset, consulting and negotiation skills, ability to translate/address customer needs and implement solutions 

Proven track record of building strong, effective and sustainable relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders and ability to work and thrive in a networked environment, cross-departments, stakeholders and geographies

Ability to be self-managed and self-directed, ability to drive and facilitate the daily work, projects, processes and initiatives efficiently

Fluent in the local language and proficient in English.
