Sales Academy Development Executive

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Business Development team at Marsh. This role will be based in the Manchester office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The role: Sales Academy Development Executive

This position is for a sales focused candidate who is looking to forge a career as a Sales Professional at Marsh. Upon completion of a structured training programme, the successful candidate will responsible for the acquisition of new clients in our Commercial segment.

This requires the profitable acquisition and growth of clients through the delivery of the overall client relationship & development strategy.

Within the role, the successful candidate will specialise in the SME segment typically prospecting companies with a minimum turnover of £3m upwards. Your network of prospects will include a focus on two key industry sectors in your designated region.

This role could suit either an experienced Sales Professional or a target driven individual looking for a career within insurance sales as training will be provided.

We will rely on you to:

Prospect relationship development and management

Pipeline management in Marsh CRM systems

Project management from initial point of prospect contact to transition to client

Prospect and industry sector research and planning

Ability to build and develop relationships with prospects and industry stakeholders

Continuous personal learning & development

Delivery of new business budget targets to support your office and region

Drive quality, consistency and accuracy in all aspects of the prospect and client engagement

Working as part of a wider Marsh team to enable us to deliver the best possible risk solutions to our clients

Being key initial point of contact and key advocate within Marsh  

Engaging with the wider community in Marsh McLennan, such as other business segments, specialties and our sister businesses Mercer, Guy Carpenter and Oliver Wyman

Once established in the role, we would expect the successful candidate to deliver:

Delivery of agreed new business targets

Progress in technical competency and experience as well as achievement towards industry accredited qualifications (Cert CII DipCII / ACII)

Developed network of clients, prospects and stakeholders within your industry sectors

A steer towards an industry focus to build a specialism.

What you need to have:

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and supportive team focused environment

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Sales drive, focus on results and financially driven

Business acumen and an understanding of the core mechanics of finance

Maturity and an ability to connect across multiple segments / demographics

Ambition, tenacity, confidence, ability to learn

Stakeholder management skills up to and including senior stakeholder engagement
