Safety Technician - Quincy, IL
Job DutiesSupport and assist the Health & Safety (H&S) Manager in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.Organize and conduct safety meetings for colleagues.Assist in incident investigations and analyze accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions to identify root causes.Maintain/update/upload safety records, including incident reports, training materials, and safety data sheets.Collaborate with shift management and department heads to develop and update safety protocols and procedures.Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety standards.Enforce known safety and health rules.Provide daily follow-up on all safety incidents under investigation.Support in any emergency or security situations.Build colleague commitment and enthusiasm for safety through effective leadership and influence.Participation and/or facilitation of the Safety Pillar Team.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsMinimum of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.Two (2) or more years of experience working in a continuous manufacturing environment.Experience working in an industrial safety role and familiarity with OSHA regulations, HAZMAT.Strong Organization and Communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Sphera (Incident Tracking Database).Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc. with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Ability to work in elevated areas, at heights, on catwalks, platforms.
