General Summary

The Safety Technician supports the organization’s safety and health programs by conducting inspections, monitoring compliance, and assisting in the implementation of safety initiatives. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.  Entry level position that requires individuals to work closely with the Safety Quality Productivity Manager and field supervision.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work practices Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training programs Monitor compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions Maintain safety records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation Support emergency response planning and drills Collaborate with departments to identify hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies Provide guidance and support to employees on safety-related matters Stay current on safety regulations and best practices Conduct site specific employee orientations

 

Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety preferred. The equivalent combined education and field experience will also be considered. Interest in obtaining BCSP designation (CHST, ASP, CSP). Must have strong problem-solving skills Ability to identify deficiencies, confront problems and work as a team to a solution Working knowledge of tool, product safety, electrical design and construction concepts. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to thoroughly understand and apply company policies, procedures, business ethics, and work Superior communications and interpersonal skills An ability to learn new software for employee training required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Ability to work with minimal supervision and perform against accelerated deadlines Willingness to meet the overtime demands of this role

 

Accountability and Measurement Partner with field Superintendents to ensure that personnel perform as Confirm that inspections and training are occurring on a regularly scheduled basis.

The employee is required to regularly commute to site locations. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

Compensation Range:  $80K - $110K/hourly based on qualifications and experience

Other Compensation: This position is bonus eligible
