Job Title: Safety SpecialistJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Safety Specialist to join our team and work on various utility projects. The role is field-based, requiring travel throughout Arizona, and involves significant interaction with our operations team to ensure safety compliance and improvement. Responsibilities + Conduct accident and injury investigations, including root cause analyses. + Provide support for incident case management and documentation steps. + Ensure completion of corrective actions for all accidents and incidents. + Review incident case management and documentation. + Support safety committees with safety performance assessments and process improvements. + Conduct site visits to document safety behaviors and work conditions. + Collaborate with operations leadership on site-specific safety plans. + Participate in project kick-off and progress meetings. + Coordinate safety department meetings and provide technical expertise. + Ensure compliance with safety regulations. + Coach and mentor personnel on safety practices. + Conduct field safety observations and PPE hazard assessments. + Coordinate required employee trainings. + Participate in safety department meetings and action planning. + Comply with professional and ethical conduct standards. Essential Skills + 3-6 years of construction safety experience. + Experience in the T&D/utilities industry. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. + High school diploma or GED equivalent. + Experience with OSHA recordkeeping and reporting. + Advanced knowledge of safety regulations. + Excellent problem-solving skills. + Effective communication skills. + Ability to travel extensively. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Safety certification such as CSHO, CHST, SMS, SSH, or CSP is preferred. + Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or related field preferred. Work Environment The position is primarily field-based, requiring 80-100% travel throughout Arizona. The main office is located in Phoenix near the airport, with a Monday through Friday schedule. The role includes a company-provided truck, phone, computer, gas card, and potentially a purchasing card. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $78000.00 - $115000.00/hr.
