Job Title: Safety Specialist
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Specialist (Level 1 or 2) to work on various utility projects throughout Arizona. The role requires field presence 80-100% of the time and involves travel across the state. The Safety Specialist will report to the Safety Manager and collaborate with operations teams to ensure a consistent safety focus.

ResponsibilitiesConduct accident and injury investigations, including root cause analyses.Provide support for incident case management and documentation steps.Ensure completion of corrective actions for all accidents and incidents.Review incident case management and documentation.Assess safety performance trends and implement process improvements.Perform site visits to observe and document safety behaviors and work conditions.Partner with Operations leadership to create site-specific safety plans.Participate in project kick-off and progress meetings.Coordinate safety department meetings and action planning.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.Coach and mentor project site personnel regarding safety practices.Conduct proactive field safety observations and PPE hazard assessments.Schedule or facilitate required employee trainings.Provide mentoring and coaching to lower-level safety personnel.Participate in safety department meetings and action planning.Understand and comply with the company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.Essential Skills2-5 years of safety experience in the construction industry.Proficiency with MS Office Suite.Strong interpersonal and writing skills.Experience in environmental, health, and safety field roles.Documented experience with OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.Thorough understanding of construction project management practices.Advanced knowledge of local, federal, and state regulations.Problem-solving and situation analysis skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsSafety certification preferred (e.g., CSHO, CHST, SMS, SSH, CSP).Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or related field preferred.Combination of relevant experience and education considered in lieu of degree.Work Environment

The role involves 80-100% fieldwork, traveling throughout Arizona to different job sites. The main office is located in Phoenix near the airport, with work hours varying Monday through Friday. The position offers a company truck, phone, computer, gas card, and potentially a purchasing card. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $78000.00 - $115000.00/hr.
