Safety Specialist
**Job Title: Safety Specialist** **Job Description** As a Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and safety within our organization. You will be responsible for identifying and informing management of compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities through the conduct of weekly and monthly audits. Additionally, you will facilitate the investigation process, maintain required paperwork to comply with regulations, and enter information into the internal database in a timely manner. Your role will involve performing observations and audits, training and assisting others to complete their responsibilities, and potentially managing fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other related activities depending on the business unit and location. **Responsibilities** + Conduct weekly and monthly audits to identify compliance issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement. + Facilitate investigation processes and maintain required paperwork for compliance. + Enter information into the internal database promptly. + Perform observations and audits regularly. + Train and assist area managers and team members in completing their responsibilities. + Conduct specific training as required. + Manage additional responsibilities such as fire prevention and hazardous waste management. **Essential Skills** + Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. + Maintain a calm demeanor in challenging situations. + Minimum of 1 year in an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) related field or a bachelor's degree in a related field. + Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910. + Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. + Ability to maintain confidentiality in security and personnel matters. + Flexibility to work shifts including days, nights, and weekends. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred. + Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills. + Experience in leading and managing a team. + Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential concerns. + Conduct job hazard and job analyses. + Experience in emergency response and holds relevant certifications. + Experience in workers' case management. + Passion for safety. + Experience in healthcare or industrial settings. + Experience with OSHA regulations and workers compensation. **Why Work Here?** Join a team that values safety and compliance, where you will have the opportunity to make impactful contributions to the organization's safety standards. The role involves working flexible shifts, including Sunday to Wednesday night shifts from 6 pm to 4:30 am. The initial training schedule is Monday to Friday from 7 am, followed by a three-week schedule from Wednesday to Saturday, 7 am to 5:30 pm. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of NA, Kansas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
