Job Summary and Responsibilities

Performs direct observation of the patient to maintain safety. Utilizes specialized training, de-escalation techniques and other interventions as applicable to create a therapeutic and calming environment for patients. Communicates patient mental and/or physical status changes to the primary Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Leader. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.

The schedule for this position is 6am-6pm.


Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

High School Diploma or GED requiredBLS through the American Heart Association requiredDe-escalation training preferred Six months previous CNA or EMT experience preferredAbility to learn new tasks, follow written and verbal instructions, make judgments, work well with a variety of people    Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; well organized and able to multi-taskVision sufficient to read medical records, instruments, documentation, and visual changes in client conditionHearing sufficient to interact with client who may be unable to speak at normal voice levelSufficient mobility and dexterity to assist patients with call lights, side rails and to react appropriately to confused or agitated patients until assistance arrives

Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly
