Our Explosive Ordnance Services (EOS) team enables the Australian Defence Force through storage, distribution, maintenance and disposal of these systems, all across Australia. Within our logistics services business there are 17+ depots throughout Australia, allowing various development and progression opportunities. 
 

YOUR ROLE
As our Safety Security Systems & Facilities Coordinator you will be primarily responsible for promoting a positive safety and security culture that is compliant with regulatory authorities.

You will have experience in providing guidance and counsel to staff as well as advising your peers and managers on Safety and Security issues. The role also provides administrative support to ensure depot compliance, giving a high level of responsibility to the position.

Based on the Darwin RAAF site, on Larrakia land, your role purpose will be:

Implement and administer safety and security practices outlined in the Darwin Major Hazard Facility (MHF) safety reports

Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and regulations

Coordinate return to work and rehabilitation plans for staff within the region

Liaise and maintain effective relationships with Commonwealth and State/Territory Government agencies and Defence stakeholders

Coordination of depot facility management operations

Conduct safety and security risk assessments and review and implement control measures

Assist internal and external auditors during depot audits

Coordinate regional meetings and ensure records are maintained

Conduct HSE Toolbox briefings as directed

Assist the Site Manager as required in the delivery of safety, security and systems management
 

YOUR EXPERIENCE
On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours: 

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to identify and assess risk

Ability to develop and deliver training programs

Computer literacy with a sound knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products

Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse variety of stakeholders

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

Experience working within a Major Hazardous Facility

Report writing

Investigations and report findings experience

Experience in a safety management role
