The Role:

 

Oxfam Syria is looking for Staff Safety Assistant

Provide support to ensure that safety/security management plan and Sops are developed, implemented, monitored, and reviewed so as to get robust staff security management in consistence with Oxfam policies, standards, and requirements

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

 

Essential 
•    Bachelor's degree holder with minimum of 2 years’ experience in S&S in the Humanitarian sector, or High secondary education with 3 years’ experience in the field of Safety & Security in the Humanitarian sector.
•    Experience in facilitating and escorting field trips in accordance with security protocols and safety management plans.
•    Practical experience in conducting field assessments.
•    Previous experience in facilitating awareness session.
•    Ability to collect data and create reports.
•    Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area
•    Attention to detail and excellent numeracy.
•    Good communication skills in English and Arabic
•    Team-working skills.
•    Good competency in Microsoft Office applications
•    Flexibility under pressure and in response to changing needs.
•    Ability to work with others to develop vision into strategy and communicate and influence this to a wider audience. 
•    Ability to create the environment to enable others to achieve their objectives and to be able to develop their skills and abilities.
•    Knowledge of Syria context in terms of its political, economic and social trends plus a good understanding of safety and security measures/protocols.


Desirable
•    Previous work experience in the same field of S&S with INGOs is preferable.
•    Previous knowledge in using maps applications.
