About this Job
The Louisiana Special School District (LSSD) is an education service agency that provides services to the Louisiana Special Schools (Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, and Special School Programs). The schools provide educational opportunities to students with low-incidence disabilities and a variety of unique needs.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Risk Agency Manager that will play a vital role in ensuring a secure and compliant environment for students, staff, and visitors; with a strong background in risk assessment, emergency planning, and regulatory compliance, that will work closely with school leadership to identify potential hazards, implement preventative measures, and lead safety training initiatives. Their proactive approach helps create a culture of safety and preparedness, supporting the well-being of the entire school community.
Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience in safety inspection or training, emergency preparedness, safety education or promotion, risk management, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus two years of experience in safety inspection or training, emergency preparedness, safety education or promotion, risk management, or administrative services; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in safety inspection or training, emergency preparedness, safety education or promotion, risk management, or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus one year of experience in safety inspection or training, emergency preparedness, safety education or promotion, risk management, or administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
* Processing payroll for the employees who work under the Executive Director in the operations department.
* Maintain and coordinate job trainings for the Operations Department.
* Coordinates with Human Resources for Workman's Compensation claims.
* Monitor and coordinate with OMV for Driver Authorization for employees with the school district.
*Organize and gather paperwork for annual safety audits with Sedgwick.
* Work with all departments to conduct school safety trainings (lockdown drills, campus evacuation, active shooter, etc.)
*Conduct random safety checks around campus to maintain compliance with the Office of Risk Management.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional. The chosen application will be required to take a probationary appointment.
Location: The Safety Risk Agency Manager position is in the Operations Department at the Louisiana Special School District.
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules may be available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position for which you are applying.
