Safety Representative
Job Title: Safety Representative Job Description The Safety Representative plays a critical role in ensuring safety and compliance on construction sites. This position involves overseeing safety protocols for conveyor installations at distribution centers, including those for major clients like Amazon and Walmart. The role requires national travel, with initial projects in Indiana, Tennessee, and Texas. Projects typically last between 4 to 12 months. Responsibilities + Develop and implement safety plans and procedures specific to each construction project. + Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation measures. + Provide safety training and orientation to all site workers, subcontractors, and visitors. + Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, as well as company policies. + Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement corrective actions. + Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions. + Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance and identify areas for improvement. + Coordinate emergency response activities and drills. + Facilitate communication regarding safety matters between site management, workers, and external agencies. + Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all workers. Essential Skills + OSHA 500/510 certification + Strong analytical skills + Attention to detail + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills + Ability to work under pressure and in dynamic environments Additional Skills & Qualifications + Degree preferred, but candidates with OSHA 500 will be considered + Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus + Leadership skills to lead safety initiatives + Strong problem-solving skills + Good judgment and decision-making skills + Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams Work Environment The role involves working on construction sites with varying schedules, typically averaging 60 hours per week. Employees work in a dynamic environment requiring flexibility and adaptability. Travel is required, with per diem for food, and accommodations such as hotels, flights, rental cars, and fuel provided. Employees receive one long weekend off per month, with flights covered. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
