Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team in Singapore, Singapore. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and contractors. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety management plans, ensuring compliance with local and international safety standards, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety management plans in accordance with local regulations and company standardsConduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvementReview and approve Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Job Safety Risk Assessments (JSRA) submitted by contractorsInvestigate incidents and near-misses, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to prevent future occurrencesDevelop and deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors, ensuring a high level of safety awareness across the organizationCollaborate with management, employees, and external stakeholders to address safety concerns and implement corrective actionsMaintain accurate safety records and prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including lead and lag indicatorsStay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices, incorporating them into company policies and proceduresProvide technical guidance and support to ensure compliance with safety requirements at project sitesCoordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related fieldRegistered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or other MOM-recognized qualificationsMinimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or related industriesIn-depth knowledge of local WSH regulations, Codes of Practice, and risk management frameworksFamiliarity with international safety standards, such as ISO 45001Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detailExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenProficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office suiteFirst aid and emergency response training certificationAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and influence stakeholders at all levelsProactive approach to safety management with a commitment to continuous improvementWillingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when requiredWillingness to accept a 12 months contract
